The Golden League is an annual competition founded by Denmark, France and Norway in 2012 in the aim of creating an international tournament featuring the world's best handball teams outside the official EHF and IHF competitions. It's aimed at both men and women, with events alternating every year. Every year, the three founder countries host a round at home, i.e. in Norway, Denmark and France. In each round, the host nation plays against the two other founder countries as well as a fourth international team of its choice. For the round in France, the guest country is Qatar. And so begins a four-nation tournament with six matches spread over three or four days. Only Denmark, France and Norway make the final ranking. The country with the most victories over all three rounds is declared Winner of the Golden League. Two points are awarded for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a debate. In the event of a draw after the three rounds, the goal average is the decider.
The Experts won the first Men's Golden League, which was held in 2013/2014.
